Staff Node.js Engineer

Requirements

• Deep Technical Expertise: 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating complex backend systems. Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and PHP, including working with both modern microservices and monolithic architectures.
• Integrations Experience: Proven background in building and maintaining integrations platforms. Strong understanding of patterns such as webhooks, polling, message queues, and event-driven architectures, as well as API versioning and multi-tenant systems.
• Systems Thinking: Solid knowledge of backend fundamentals, including API design best practices, message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS), relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
• Decision-Making & Ownership: Ability to make high-quality technical decisions through research, prototyping (PoCs), and structured documentation (e.g., RFCs, ADRs). Strong focus on long-term correctness over short-term wins.
• Pragmatic Engineering Approach: Flexibility in choosing the right tools and technologies for the problem. Comfortable working across different stacks and quickly learning new technologies.
• Quality-Driven Mindset: Strong commitment to testing, observability, and operational excellence as core parts of software development.
• AI-Driven Development: Hands-on experience with AI-powered developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and willingness to promote their adoption within the team.
• Leadership & Communication: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts and influence engineering standards across the team.

Nice to Have

• Experience building developer-facing APIs or SDKs
• Contributions to or maintenance of open-source projects
• Familiarity with the localization domain and related technical challenges
